Bishop Larry E. Roberts Sr. was born April 22, 1952 in Chicago, IL.  His brilliant musical career started at the age of 4 under the tutelage of his late grandmother Rev. Eloise Bridges.  Attending the Lyon & Healy Music School and Chicago Bible Institution his passion for gospel music developed and today he is known as one of the greatest organist of our era.  At the age of 13, it was clear that he was anointed by the Lord and he started playing for the late Dr. Doris Evelyn Davis and the Trinity All Nations Church, where he has been a loyal and faithful servant for 50 years.

As the Minister of Music, he became a gifted songwriter and masterful composer. He has worked with many gospel artists like: the late Rev. James Cleveland, the late Queen of Gospel Albertina Walker, the Caravans, the O’Neal Twins, and the late great Rev. Milton Brunson and this is just to name a few.   The Trinity All Nations Choir recorded several albums and traveled worldwide. The choir is best known for “I Love Jesus” and “Are You Ready?” written and composed by Bishop Larry E. Roberts, Sr.

In 1988, he accepted his calling to the ministry as was ordained and licensed by Dr. Doris Evelyn Davis.   He later graduated from the Trinity All Nations Church Bible School and also attended Moody Bible Institute.  He attended Hampton University for Community Organize Training. He also received his honorary doctorate degree from Mount Sinai Bible College, Kokoma IN.

Former Mayor Richard M. Daley proclaimed June 4, 2000 “Dr. Larry E. Roberts Day” in the City of Chicago. The Lord promoted this loyal and faithful servant from Minister of Music to be elected Pastor of the Trinity All Nations Church in November 2002. He was installed by Bishop Larry D. Trotter.  His motto for the community and church is: “We have a New Attitude, New Direction, & a New Vision.”

He was consecrated to the Sacred Office of Bishop on August 30, 2014 by Bishop James McNeal, Jr.  He is the National Christian Fellowship Conference North Central Regional Coordinator.  He is an Official Chaplain with the 22nd District Chicago Police Department. He is the President of the 21st Ward Ministers Alliance, Alderman Howard Brookins. He is dedicated to empowering our community by revitalizing our relationships with our neighbors, local schools, and businesses.

In response to violence impacting the safety, academic performance and behavior of CPS students, he proactively opened the church facilities to the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago. He developed an Alternative Out-of-School Suspension Program called CAAAD (Changing Attitudes, Agendas, Actions and Directions). This restorative justice program offers students a choice to unproductive days at home due to suspension. This new and unique faith-based model has proven to be successful with Wendell E. Green Elementary, Percy Julian High School, and the Kenosha Unified School District.

He married the daughter of our late founder, Evangelist Darlene Roberts and on June 10, 2018, they will celebrate their 46th Year Anniversary.  They have two children, his son Larry Jr. and his daughter Tramaine. He is extremely proud of his children who operate a successful family business throughout the City of Chicago and Cook County Jail.  Larry’s Barber College serves as a beacon of light in the community. “To God Be the Glory.”
